3. Rang in Bossey

Rang in Spanien.

Countdown for Dubai

Dubai

Ready for the tournament

In the Money Ranking I am in position 102. But more important is the Exemption Ranking for me. Out of that ranking all players are getting the categories for 2011. The top 80 get a full card and 81-90 a categorie. If I do not make the top 90 I would have to play the Q-school, that will take place in Spain next week.

Situation

My categorie

Right now I am in position 90 of the Exemption Ranking. If I play well in Dubai I can still get my full card, if not I would probably need to go to Spain. But it also depends on the results of the other Ladies.

It is a bit complicated but please cross your fingers for me this week and I am sure I will have a great week in Dubai!!!!

next tournament

DUBAI MASTERS

Voted 1 of the Top 100 golf courses outside of the US by Golf Digest (May 2009). Emirates Golf Club, host of the PGA European Tour sanctioned Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies Masters, boasts two of the city’s finest must-see courses; The Majlis and The Faldo, as well as a 9 hole Par 3 course, golf academy, a variety of restaurants and bars, gymnasium and tropical swimming pool.

Sunday

Two tournaments to go

The tournament in Delhi is a smaller event and only played on three rounds. I felt like on a rollercoaster that day. After a double bogey, followed by another bogey i was +3. I am blessed with a great caddy, i managed to birdie the next three holes and i was back on level par. A disappointing Trippel bogey, followed by another bogey… +4 = 41st position.

Four weeks

Sum up Asia

Four tournaments in four weeks: I made two cuts and i earned some money (39th and 41st final rankings), which means each approx. 1000 Euros. At the moment i am ranked 102nd in the money ranking list.

LET

Exempt von Pre Q-School

A highlight to mention is: I made the Final Stage at the Q-School. All players who were ranked within Top 120 after the Indian Ladies Open made the final stage. For sure not the final goal as i would like to qualify directly for the LET 2011. So i will have my last chance in Dubai to collect the missing points. If not i will head directly to Spain after Dubai for the Final Q-School. The legendary Dubai Masters will start 8th December on the Emirates Golf course. I am looking forward to it!

First tournament in corea

KLPGA

5.5 hours… 1 round of golf

Korea Open

The Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (KLPGA) ruling had to be followed an example: instead of teeing off from two tee boxes (1 and 10), we had a shut gun, whereas everybody started at the same time but on different holes. A disaster. We had to be patient as sometimes we were a few flights on the same tee waiting to play.

Many european players were not used for such a slow play, Laura Davies (GBR) one of the favourite player mentioned: ‘I just lost my rhythm’. She played a round of 78 (+6).

Rounds of 76 and 79 would not be good enough to make the final field. What a course, 5896 m length, wow! On top of this we were on sea level and it was pretty cold and windy, therefore no extra length on long shots!

Highlight of the week was my eagle on hole number 14, i chipped in a sw from about 45 meters.

Korea

Experience

I am glad i went to Korea, i learned so much. Korean players are just the best players in the world, it was amazing competing in the same tournament. The big difference between them and myself is the short game as the long game pretty much the same. I call them the machines as soon the approach the green. Just impressive! No wonder their scores are low.

India

Hero Honda Women’s Indian Open

Next stop Delhi. After that tournament i will come home to Switzerland. The last tournament on the LET will be played in Dubai in December.

Dubai Ladies Masters 2010

The first couple of days i felt comfortable with my swing and i played solid golf. Sometimes i was wondering why i would not score lower… Anyway i largely entered the final field, yes, i made the cut! Happy and motivated as i was approaching my goals.

Weekend

A round of 80 shots

Playing among the best 60 players during that weekend was an incredible experience. Michelle Wie, Laura Davies, Lee-Anne Pace, Tanja Elesogui etc just to name some players, who would fight for victory that weekend.

I had a bad start and i would not find into my game. After nine holes i was +7. Thanks to my caddy (brother mathias), i had a great support at my side. He cheered and motivated. The second nine holes i started all over again as every shot would count.

Final day

69 (-3)

The final round i started off very early in the morning. To be exact at 7.39 am. I was determined to play at least a par round, i needed it to ensure a 2011 full exempt. tour card. The first two holes i birdied each and during the whole round i felt confident and determined. I finished as i started with a birdie and i signed a score of 69 shots. Only three other players had a better score than mine.

I made it!

After the final round i knew i was getting the 2011 tour card due to my 77th final ranking in the OM standings.

A moment to say thank you to all my sponsors, family, supportives and fans.

THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME!

Wishing you all a merry christmas and a blessed 2011.

Yours Caroline

Caddy Tournament

Wednesday was special day, as not the ladies, but our caddies would play on the Wiener Neustadt course. Interesting to watch Laura Davies carrying a bag. Just a laugh and great day for all involved. My brother Mathias did great. A great performance from a greater brother. We really merged to a fantastic Team. Thank you This for all your excellent support!!!

French Open

Rounds of 73, 75, 70 and 75 ended in a solid 53rd total ranking at this year’s French Open. I travelled back home, packed with positive memories. On top of this i am ranked second for the statistics of: most played par’s in a row. 😉

Next stop

Spain

Escaping the cold weather in Switzerland and heading for spain. A short stop over in Zurich and already in Spain the day after. We are going to play the course Flamingo Golf at this year’s Spanish Open.

Improve every day!

74 and 73

Improve every day

The Taihu Golf course played long, these days. It was quite cold (11 Dgrs) and the fairways were hardly cut, that means no roll at all. Compared to the tournament in Sanya the balls would not fly so far here, which caused some problems to some of the players.

As i am rather a long hitter, this would not bother me too much. I would start the tournament with a 74 followed by a 73.

Finalday, sunday

Suzhou Taihu

The final day i was playing with Karen Lunn, an australian former LPGA player and 9 times winner on the LET. She is a so called living legend, at my point of view. It was an honour for me to play with her and in the end i even beat her thanks to a solid 72 that day. Some more 1-Putts could have… Whatever, until the 14th hole i just played pars, some of them were close to get -1. Every day a little improvement, this was great!
