I was looking forward to the Finnair Masters, had good memories from last year, when i made a Hole-in-One on the second hole.
This year i could not enter the final field as my results of 76 and 80 would not be good enough. Actually my swing was better than the result would show.
Lee-Anne Pace won in Finland, quite a few shots between her and the second ranked. She has a great season as she already won this year’s Deutsche Bank Ladies Open in Losone. Her coach back in George (SA) is the same one i practice with: Val Holland. Well done Lee-Ann!
Now i am in Vienna at the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open. The Pro-Am is scheduled for Thursday. The tournament itself will start on Friday including three rounds.

My first appearance at the Irish Open is done. I really liked the course and i felt good. But soon i would notice that everything would change. The first few holes were very difficult: Rain and low temperatures would not help me to get into my game. I counted the several times i opened and closed my umbrella again. The second round started off better and i was satisfied to hit 14 greens in regulation. But for the final field the scores were unfortunately to high.
Just after rainy Ireland i headed to Wales. I thought, well it can only get better now. But the weather would not care about us girls playing golf, wrapped like a skier.
Thursday i started at 9.20 am. I stood on the range shortly after 8 am and the wind took on, as i never felt before. The wind blew as strong that i had difficulties in balance and the balls would even roll on the green by itself.

From time to time i thought the organisation committee would stop the tournament, but we had to finish the round.
There is a LET ruling: If a player plays more than +14 the first day, she would not play the second day. 14 players therefore were asked not to play the next day. This never happened before.
I played a 79 that day but it would not be sufficient to enter the final field.
Now i am on my way to Helsinki (FIN). I am really curious about the weather. Thanks to my sponsor “Meteo News”, i will be able to see the forecast and to prepare accordingly. I am pretty much sure, that woolen Hat and winter gloves will be needed again.
The order of Merit 2009’s deadline was December 5th. A deadline to sum up the yearly ranking of the Swiss Professional Golfers, which has been counting all played tournaments of the year. The order of Merit has been handled by the Swiss PGA. Points have been given to each player and tournament due to it’s ranking on national such as international events.
I managed to win this yearly ranking by 25’000 points advance to the second ranked Frederique Seeholzer. This win was one of my goals for my rookie professional golf year. Most of the points I achieved at the Tenerife Open and the Evian Masters this year.
